I just got a Surfmat from 4th Gear Flyer last Saturday. Took it out to local beach on Sunday the 4th. It was crappy knee - waist high onshore junk. I almost went back home and do a pillow surf. I first tried v-bottom and did not have fun, so I decided to ride the mat. It turned to be a super fun surf after I catch the very first wave. Catches wave easy and go super fast and smooth. Going over a flat section and make a longer wave. So stoked! 
You must have a mat in your quiver.. I highly recommend it!
No its not your new diaper changing bed.. Sorry...
